This book has a rare collection of distinguished letters of approbation from leading contemporary rabbis, including Rabbi Mordechai Yaffe – the ‘Levush’, Rabbi Efraim Lunshitz – the ‘Olelos Efraim’, Rabbi Moshe ben Avraham – the ‘Matteh Moshe’, Rabbi Yehoshua ben Alexander – the ‘Sema’, Rabbi Yeshaya Horowitz – the ‘Shelah Hakadosh’ and others.
Prayers, with punctuation, and special prayer for protection from plagues.
From the introduction:
‘I therefore wanted to provide the remedy before the plague - may it not come, and have published it with the approval of the great ones of the generations, to encourage the printers to publish Pitum Haketores with my small commentary Mizbeach Zahav ... so that each person should have it as protection in case ... and I hope to G-d that as soon as this Pitum Haketores is publicised in the world, all illness and plague shall disappear ...’
