CONTROVERSIAL OPEN LETTER TO THE ELDERS OF THE SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE SYNAGOGUE IN LONDON BY SOLOMON HAIM ANDRADE – DA COSTA. LONDON 1841.
Printed letter written by S H Andrade – da Costa to the Elders of London’s Sephardi Congregation complaining of being insulted by the Secretary of the community and of the way he was subsequently excommunicated for failing to pay a £5 fine imposed him as a result of a disrespectful comment he subsequently made to the Secretary.

Solomon Haim Andrade - da Costa (1802-1866), born in London to a family of Spanish origin. Opened an independent Sephardi Synagogue in Islington in 1865.
