Origin: - Sale of late Mr. John Farnworth, Christie, Mason & Woods, Ltd, London, May 18, 1874 (acquired by Agnews for 1250 guineas). - Probably acquired by Lord Joicey from Agnews Gallery, London (label on the back). - Acquired by the parents of the current owners at Christie's London, March 21, 1969, lot. 128 (chalk inscription on the back). - Private collection, Madrid.
