Pegasus Mechanical Locomotive
Made by Ives, Blakeslee & Company. Bridgeport, Ct. - Circa 1880 - 11" Long. Bernard Barenholtz Toy Collection, David Pressland Toy Collection, From the Haradin Family Collection. Without any reservations, it can be stated that the Pegasus Locomotive is the finest mechanical trackless locomotive ever produced. For this model, the design team at the Ives Company pulled out all the stops. They even include a train engineer, who's right arm moves up and down to ring the train's bell. Other terrific features include a track light, broadly flaring diamond smokestack and a gold stained steam engine. Additionally, the color palette of red, yellow, blue, green and black is most attractive to the eyes. For many years, this was one of the proudest possessions of Barney Barenholtz and it is well illustrated in the book on his collection. The condition is totally authentic with zero restoration.
Condition: Pristine and Works Very Well.
