Wright Era Hand-Painted Biplane - Very Rare Marklin Toy
Made by Gebruder Marklin Company. Goppingen, Germany - Circa 1908 11 1/2" Long with 10" Wingspan. Marklin's toy output has always been regarded by collectors as the pinnacle of quality. From its first roots, Marklin had a very broad approach to toy design, producing toys in many categories. This includes toy stoves and kitchens, toy boats and automobiles, toy trains and train accessories, and aviation toys like zeppelins and airplanes. This latter group represents the rarest of Marklin's toy production. This particular plane is modeled on early Wright Brothers Era biplane design. It uses a minimal geometric frame with elegant contours and perfect proportions. This magnificent toy plane was discovered nearly twenty years ago at a small auction in New England.
Condition: Pristine Plus with Great Patina.
