Émile Louis Picault (1833-1922) was a French sculptor and medalist, a representative of symbolism in art. Author of works on historical themes.
Émile Louis Picault was a student of the academic artist, professor of painting
Henri Royer.
He worked on metal, and created his sculptures in bronze. In 1863-1914, he regularly exhibited at the Paris Salon. The sculptor's works enjoyed great success in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The master signed his works "E. Picault".
Among the works of E. L. Picault, we should mention the statues of Joan of Arc, Ambroise Paré, Nicolas Flamel, Voltaire, as well as characters from some literary works - Macbeth, the hero of the Spanish folk epic Cid Campeador and others.
