Askold Anatolyevich Makarov (1925-2000). People's Artist of the USSR (1983). In 1947-1970 he was a ballet soloist of the Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theater named after V.I. S. Kirov, where he danced the leading parts of the classical and modern repertoire.
