Handwritten Novellae by Maharam Schick.

Rabbi Moshe Schick (1807-1879), renowned as Maharam Schick, was born in Birkenheim and studied under the Chasam Sofer in Pressburg for 6 years. He developed into an outstanding Talmid Chochom and was particularly close to the Chasam Sofer. In 1838, upon the recommendation of the Chasam Sofer he was appointed Rav in Yergin where he opened a Yeshiva, which expanded to over 800 students. In 1861, he was appointed Rov of Chust and transferred the Yeshiva there with him. He was one of the greatest Poskim of his era as well as one the leading rabbinical figures in Hungary, particularly involved in the struggle against the Reform movement and advocating against educational reform in the Yeshivos. Additionally, he was a prolific author, writing over a thousand halachic Teshuvos which were printed posthumously as well as commentaries on the weekly Torah portions, Pirkei Avos, MaHaRaM Shick on the Taryag Mitzvos and Derashos.
