R' Eliezer Yehuda Waldenberg (1915-2006), was born in Yerusholayim and learned in the Eitz Chaim and Chevron Yeshivos. He married a granddaughter of the RIDBAZ. In 1951, he was appointed as a Dayan of the Bais Din HaGodol in Yerusholayim where he served alongside Rav Eliyashiv and R. Ovadia Yosef. World renowned as a great Posek, his many Teshuvos were published in the multi volume Tzitz Eliezer. He was particularly known for his expertise in Halachic questions concerning medicine.
