Nice letter with stationary and stamp.
R. Eliezer Yehuda Finkel (1879-1965), was a son of R. Nosson Tzvi Finkel, the Alter of Slabodka. In 1903, he married the daughter of R. Elya Boruch Kamai of Mir whom he succeeded as Rosh Yeshiva in the Mirrer Yeshiva. At the onset of WWII, R. Eliezer Yehuda traveled to Eretz Yisroel in an attempt to obtain visas for his students with the intention of relocating the yeshiva to Yerusholayim, but these plans were interrupted by the upheavals of the war. In 1944, he opened a branch of the yeshiva in Yerusholayim which today has grown to be the largest yeshiva in the world.
