When he started in the Port Wine market as a merchant, he quickly set up his business that would prove to be prosperous and to come. Thus, in the 5th generation, Dirk Niepoort is born, an unavoidable producer in the world of wines, recognized as one of the most important characters who worked, and works, in favor of Portuguese wine. He collaborated with several dozen producers, helped them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, and also prepared his legacy with those who are always creating irreverent wines.  Nowadays, Dirk Niepoort collaborates in many other projects, in practically all national and some foreign wine regions.
