A pair of fascinating letters from 1946 - Kahir Ship - the 22nd Zionist Congress in Basel. The first letter is from Shimon Peres to a Palmach fighter, Yoav Harpaz (son of Neta Harpaz). He discusses how difficult it is to leave Israel for the first time. He promises to tell him all about the Congress. The second letter is from Neta Harpaz, from the Second Aliyah, to his son, Yoav. He tells of all of the interesting characters and people aboard the ship.The letter contains political content as well as personal content (about Yoav's mother who is ill).
