With many unidentified signatures and handwriting on cover pages, front and back.
20 cm. Original binding. Front cover page a bit worn, especially on bottom corner. Age stains. Otherwise good condition.

Naphtali Herz Wessely/ Wesel (1725-1805), was an 18th-century German (Hamburg) Jewish Hebraist and educationist.
Isaac Baer Levinsohn (1788-1860) was a Ukrainian-Hebrew scholar, satirist, writer and Haskalah leader. He was called "the Ukrainian Mendelssohn". In his Bet Yehudah (1837), he formulated a philosophy and described Jewish contributions to civilization in an effort to promote Judeo-Christian understanding.
