Meissen ”Cupid with carrier pigeon and heart” - Meissen ”Cupid with carrier pigeon and heart” Designed by Johann Pollak in 1880, underglaze blue pommel sword mark 1860-1924, 1st choice, incised model number M 115, embossed Bossierer number 111 and brush number 19.Naturalistic form with fine polychrome onglaze painting and gilding, a naked cupid with quiver and drapery standing above a profiled round base on an overgrown rock and tree trunk support, holding a flaming heart in his left hand and looking towards the homing pigeon on his raised right hand, a tiny marginal fire crack in the rock next to his front foot, otherwise very good condition, h 30.5 cm.
