Frankenthal ”Amor als Weltbezwinger” - Frankenthal ”Amor als Weltbezwinger” Designed by Johann Peter Melchior circa 1780, underglaze blue CT brush mark with date (17)83 and remains of an old adhesive label, naturalistic design with polychrome onglaze painting and sparse gold decoration, in pyramidal construction above a high irregular rock base, cupid seated on a central globe, triumphantly holding an arrow in the air, flanked by three putti, supporting the globe with quiver, wrestling with a net and testing an arrowhead, respectively. examining an arrowhead, the raised arm of the cupid professionally restored, otherwise in good condition for its age, h 17 cm.
