Il dipinto in esame trova riferimenti nell’ambiente della famiglia dei Piola, dinastia genovese di artisti. In particolare, le affinità più stringenti dal punto di vista compositivo le riscontriamo in Pellegrino (o Pellegro) Piola e la sua Madonna con Bambino, San Giovannino e Sant'Eligio vescovo, detta anche Madonna degli Orefici, oggi conservata all’Accademia Lingustica di Belle Arti, a Genova.

The painting finds references in the environment of the Piola family, a Genoese dynasty of artists. In particular, the most important affinities from the compositional point of view can be found in Pellegrino (or Pellegro) Piola and his Madonna with Child, St. Young John and St. Eligio, also known as Madonna degli Orefici, now kept at the Linguistic Academy of Fine Arts, in Genoa.
