Crescent steel butt plate, sling eyes, plain straight grip, the top tang engraved 'MODEL 1886', the lower 'PAT OCT. 14. 1884. JAN.20. 1885' '42918' and forend with rounded steel end cap. Dovetail post foresight, hexagonal barrel engraved 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A.' sprung buckhorn rearsight, full length tubular magazine.
