Crescent steel butt plate, sling eyes, plain straight grip, the top tang engraved 'MODEL 1886', the lower 'PAT OCT. 14. 1884. JAN.20. 1885' '42918' and forend with rounded steel end cap. Dovetail post foresight, hexagonal barrel engraved 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A.' sprung buckhorn rearsight, full length tubular magazine. Original colour hardening to the butt plate, forend cap, receiver and underlever. Scotarms Lot 177

 The stock with local dark ageing to the edges. Some vestigial minor dents to the stock and minor, more modern scratches. The forend in similar condition. The colour hardening being vivid and showing little to no sign of wear. The blue to the barrel and loading gate intact. Some minor marking to the left hand edge of the top flat. Very minor tarnishing to the slide and locks. The rifling slightly softened with extensive frosting and localised light pitting. The magazine tube with two minor dents and marks to the bluing.
