J PURDEY & SONS
A FINE 12-BORE SELF-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTOR Ser No 13933;

Cushioned rubber butt pad mounted on Vulcanite, the stock highly figured with chequered straight grip and forend, lightly cast off for the right shoulder. Chopper lump barrels replaced in 1998 (see Footnotes), the semi-bottom rib engraved '2' 'J. PURDEY & SONS, AUDLEY HOUSE, SOUTH AUDLEY STREET, LONDON'. The lock plates bright, inset with cocking indicators, best fine bouquet and scroll engraving throughout. Articulated triggers, automatic safety with 'SAFE' inlaid in gold. In an oak and leather case. 

Weight 6lb 7oz, Chambers 2 3/4", Choke 1/4, 1/2, Barrels 28", Pull 14 3/4" (inc rubber pad), 13 7/8"

It would appear that the barrels were bored a little to reduce weight.

The manufacturers have kindly confirmed  the following
This 12 Bore Double Barrelled Hammerless Ejector gun was built with 28 1/8" Whitworth steel barrels with semi bottom rib and extra safetys. The barrels were bored: Cylinder both barrels.
This gun was completed in 1891 and was built to match Purdey gun no. 12715. When originally completed the length to the middle of the stock was 14 3/8" and the gun weighed 6Ibs 4ozs.
New barrels were fitted by Purdey and completed on 3rd March 1998 and they were bored
- right: ¼ Choke and left: ½ Choke.
