Pennsylvania Red-Painted Poplar & Pine Chest
A Pennsylvania red-painted tulip poplar and pine chest of drawers, second quarter 19th century, having a stencil-decorated ebonized outset long drawer with hearts, birds and initials over three long drawers below, flanked by turned half spindle and roundels.
Dimensions:height 47 1/4in; width 42 1/2in; depth 22 1/2in.
Condition: Structurally sound. With, marks, wear, scuffs, scratches and small losses throughout. The painted surface and stencil decoration is later added. The China knobs are possibly original.
