A Division Three Carved And Pierced Bethlehem Pearl Button
1 Large size 1930's pierced Bethlehem pearl and Abalone shell.
This is the last Bethlehem pearl in the auction and perhaps one of the scarcest. Abalone examples are not the most common to find as it was more expensive and took more work to inlay the material at the time. Priscilla Stewart had a few examples as she spent many the year specifically looking for them. This example of the Fleur de Lis in Abalone is carved and united over a pierced white pearl base and is a striking example of fine craftsmanship of the 1930's.
Issued: DIVISION 1=PRE 1918 AND DIVISION 3 IS AFTER 1918
Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4". Large=1 1/4" and above, extra large=1 3/4" and above
Condition: Unless otherwise noted we find no significant condition concerns except for normal age related wear for the age of these items.
