Lechem Abirim. First edition Venice 1605
Original commentary on various Tractates of the Talmud authored by R. Avrohom Ben Aziz – Borgil.
R. Avrohom Ben Aziz – Borgil was a prime disciple of R. Shmuel Di Medinah (MaHaRaSHDa”M) and served as Rosh Yeshiva in Nikopol. Published by the author’s brother in law and disciple R. Yosef Di Novish who authored the introduction. This sefer is unusual for a work of its era, as it is based almost entirely upon Rashi and Tosfos whilst hardly referring to other Rishonim or contemporary commentaries.
Vinograd Venice 989. Di Gora press. 65, 112 pages, 27.5 cm, closely shaved affecting headings. Good/fair condition, some staining and minor worming, title page restored with no loss of text. Modern binding.
With Signatures of R. Yosef Elimelech Halberstam (1869-1907) Rav in Kshanov as well as of his son R. Yechiel Michel Tzvi Halberstam (1890-1940) Dayan in Reisha, grandchildren of the renowned R. Chaim Halberstam of Tzanz (Divrei Chaim).
With signature of R. Y.Y Ruderman and bookplates of R. Y. Weinberg Roshei Yeshiva of Ner Yisroel Baltimore.
