Plot:

Charles Richmond, a wealthy and unpleasant Englishman, is entrusted to the care of the nurse Maria because he is very ill. The beautiful girl, although initially not very convinced to serve such a hateful old man, changes her mind after the insistence of Charles's charming nephew, Anthony, who convinces her to stay by proposing a plan to make the old man change his will and be able to divide his estate. After some time Charles asks the woman to marry him. She accepts and over time begins to grow fond of him. During a boat trip the old man dies: just the day after he changed his will in favor of his wife.

It will later be discovered that Charles was murdered. The culprit will eventually be framed thanks to overwhelming evidence.
