Ginger Rogers, pseudonym of Virginia Katherine McMath (Independence, July 16, 1911 – Rancho Mirage, April 25, 1995), was an American actress, singer and dancer.
She is mainly known for having starred in several musicals produced in the 1930s by RKO Pictures, together with Fred Astaire. Her field was essentially escapist cinema, not only in the musical films she made with Fred Astaire, but also in the numerous films she starred in alone.
