background
Germany fought alongside Turkey in World War I. In the city of Aleppo in Syria there was a military post office through which mail went from and to Israel. The military mail from the country and to it was stamped there.
The envelopes in front of us have perfect stamps.
The envelopes were sent [inscribed in German] to "Elijah Parush, Hospital Wallach". The reference is to Eliyahu Parush who served as the secretary of Dr. Wallach's Shaarei Zedek hospital in Jerusalem. They were sent from Aleppo to a Jew in Jerusalem - very rare!!!
