Handwritten Novellae on the Talmud – Most Likely by Rabbi Yitzchak Fried the Son-in-Law of Rabbi Yosef Josefa Flesh Av Beit Din of Veszprém and a Disciple of the Chatam Sofer – circa 1838
Approximately 11 handwritten leaves – Novellae on the Talmud. On the first leaf, an approbation by "Rabbi Elchanan Katz … here in HUmanitas…" In one of the leaves, the writer introduces novellae "by my uncle the exceptional rabbinical … Ya'akov Yosef Segal"; later, the writer cites his father-in-law "and the Rabbi of Veszprém said words of grace" – one of the disciples of the Chatam Sofer. In addition, he writes: "I have heard on behalf of the genius Hassid … Natan Adler…"
