Rare Banknote of 10 Mark Issued by the Judenrat of the Lodz-Litzmannstadt Ghetto
A banknote issued by the Lodz Ghetto for internal use in the ghetto.
The signature of Chaim Rumkowski, the head of the Judenrat of the ghetto, appears on the banknote.
The name Litzmannstadt which is written on the banknotes was given to Lodz by Hitler in April 1940, commemorating a German general named Litzmann who was killed in the area during World War I.
