The First Days of the Hassidic Printing House of Slavita: Zohar Chadash – Slavita, 1793 – Printed by Rabbi Yechezkel Shapira of Austroha – Rare
Zohar Chadash. Printed in Slavita in 1793. One of the first books that were published by the Slavita printing house that was established by Rabbi Moshe Shapira, the son of Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz.
Extremely rare!
The book was prepared for printing by his brother, Rabbi Yechezkel. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only book printed by him!
At the beginning of the book, approbations by the rabbis of Austroha.
A complete copy: like in other of its rare copies, the book contains (1) 123 leaves (rather than 121) and includes the two rare leaves of "Interpretation of the words of Zohat Gadol and Zohar Chadash", which were added to only some of the copies (see the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book).
Ancient signatures and stamps on the title page of the book and on several other leaves.
Condition: Fair. Moth signs on some of the leaves, some of which are professionally restored.
