Maryland Colonial Currency March 1, 1770 $2 FR-MD-56 Grades xf details. A very desirable denomination from this somewhat tougher 1770 issue but hardly ever seen in grades above Very Fine On this note are two Spanish colonial dollar coin vignettes in the center text to identify the denomination; this was particularly important for a population that was mostly illiterate.
