AN EGYPTIAN LAPIS LAZULI AMULET, DEPICTING A FALCON-HEADED DEITY, LATE PERIOD TO PTOLEMAIC PERIOD, 664-30 B.C.

This exceptional amulet is carved from lapis lazuli, a semi-precious stone highly prized in ancient Egypt for its deep blue color, often associated with the heavens and the divine. The amulet portrays a standing figure with the head of a falcon, likely representing the god Horus or Ra-Horakhty, deities connected to kingship, protection, and the sky.

The figure is depicted in traditional Egyptian style, wearing a kilt and a headdress, with detailed facial features that capture the essence of the falcon, a sacred bird in ancient Egyptian religion.
