Ketubah of marriage of “philanthropist Meir son of Rabbi Ephraim known as Morris Meyer" and bride "Sarah Gertrude" daughter of Naftali Hertz Wolff Oppenheim. Charleston, South Carolina (USA), Cheshvan 1857 – “eighty one years to American’s independence”.
Ink upon paper in square letters. Reverse side contains signatures of witnesses and name of Mesader Kiddushin: Rabbi Moshe son of Rabbi Chaim (Maurice Mayer), rabbi of "Beit Elokim" Synagogue in Charleston. Document authentication listed in German, signed by rabbinical bureau of Hannover (Germany), 1889.
