Decorated "Shiviti". Jerusalem, 1906. Writing: Shalom ben Sa'adia ben Sa'adia Levi Nahari.
Ink, color and collage on paper.
In the center - "LaMenatze'ach" Menorah with a crown and a large arch above it, decorated with stars. Images of hand palms (Hamsas) appear in the upper corners. Next to the Menorah's base appear illustrations of the Temple vessels and pasted illustrations of Rachel's Tomb and the Western Wall. Initials of "Ana BeKoach" appear on the right and left sides of the Menorah, with various letter combinations and initials for protection and safeguard.
Dedication: "this Menorah was written in memory of my deceased father Sa'adia ben Sa'adia Halevi Nahari…."(Hebrew) and on the lower margins - "handwritten by me the young Shalom ben Sa'adia…" (Hebrew).
The surface of the leaf is decorated in shades of green, red, yellow, brown and gold.
49X64.5 cm. Fair condition. Creases and tears, some pasted. Stains and wear. Framed in an original frame.
