A Toy Truck Made By "Gamda" – Military Ambulance – Israel, the 1960s
A toy truck modelled as a military ambulance, made by "Gamda". Israel, [1960s].
On the sides of the truck there are an IDF vehicle license number and red Stars of David. On the lower part of the truck appear the inscriptions: "Gamda" (Hebrew and English) and "Made in Israel".
The truck is in a colorful cardboard box of the "Transport Toys Series".
The "Gamda" Company, established by Kibbutz Kfar HaNassi, started to manufacture cardboard models of cars in 1958 and in 1961 moved to manufacture metal models. In the middle of the decade, the company closed down for a short while and in 1967 returned to operate under the name "Gamda Koor Export", manufacturing the "Sabra" brand of toy cars which was intended for export.
4.5x4x9 cm. Good condition. A few stains and blemishes to paint. Box: 5x5x11 cm. Good condition. Creases. Wear to the corners.
