"Strengthen weak hands and fortify faltering knees - Bring joy to Jerusalem and rejoice with it" - Large printed poster, emissary letter for R. Yaakov Ashkenazi de Corona, whom the Sephardi community in Jerusalem sent as emissary to "the cities of Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, England and France" (central and western Europe). [Constantinople, 1758]. With the printed signatures of: R. Refael Meyuchas son of R. Shmuel, R. Yonah Navon, R. Yosef son of R. Aharon ibn Hasson, R. Yitzchak de Belasco, R. Shlomo Chiya Mizrachi, R. Refael Yitzchak Zerachya Azulai, R. Yom Tov Algazi, R. Yosef Samanon, R. Pinchas Yosef Mizrachi, R. Nissim Bracha and R. Refael Moshe Bula. The names of the rabbis are followed by a printed recommendation from the administrators of the Jerusalem fund in Constantinople: R. Yehoshua Soncin, R. Chaim Shmuel Chovev, R. Yaakov Zonana, R. Yitzchak son of R. Shmuel Angel, R. Moshe son of R. Yaakov Ashkenazi and R. Moshe Asseo. At the foot of the leaf, a recommendation by the rabbis of Constantinople: R. Avraham son of R. Yehuda Meyuchas, R. Shlomo Alfandari and R. Eliezer son of R. Moshe HaKohen. The emissary, R. Yaakov Ashkenazi de Corona (d. 1769), foremost Sephardi Torah scholar in Jerusalem, travelled abroad as emissary of Jerusalem several times. In Prague, he discussed Halacha with the rabbi of the city, R. Yechezkel Landau, the Noda BiYehuda, who quotes in his work a question in his name: "I was asked by the rabbi, Chacham Yaakov Dicorni (i.e. de Corona), emissary from Jerusalem, regarding a Sukka…" (Responsa Noda BiYehuda, Orach Chaim Mahadura Tinyana, section 133).
