Meturgeman, Aramaic-Hebrew dictionary and explanation of the Aramaic words in the Targumim of the Torah, by R. Eliyahu HaLevi Ashkenazi (R. Eliyahu Bachur). Isny (Germany): Paulus Fagius, 1541. First edition.
Censorship expurgations in several places (including p. 4a). Signature of censors on penultimate leaf.
Ownership inscriptions on endpaper, title page and penultimate leaf of "Yitzchak of Porto son of R. David Refael".
Next to the inscription on title page appears another ownership inscription: "Purchased by me, Chananiah son of R. Shlomo Finzi, from… Mrs. Yentele, widow of the above [?] official…". R. Chananiah son of R. Shlomo Finzi, a disciple of R. Moshe Provenzalo, author of responsa, signed a letter alongside R. Menachem Azariah (the Rama) of Fano praising R. Menachem de Lonzano.
On endpaper, initials inside a decoration: "Y. Fi.". Glosses by several writers, one signed "Y.Fi.". These are the initials habitually signed by R. Yosef Fiammetta.
R. Yosef Fiammetta (1655?-1721), Rabbi of Ancona, a leading Torah scholar and kabbalist of Italy, teacher and father-in-law of R. Shimshon Morpurgo, author of Shemesh Tzedakah.
[4], 164, [2] leaves. 33 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains, including dampstains. Worming. Small marginal tears and open tears to several leaves. Old binding, with leather spine (damaged).
