The Spies with a Cluster of Grapes – Plate Produced by the SHARAR Group – Bezalel, Jerusalem
Plate decorated with figures of the spies. Product of Bezalel, the SHARAR group, Jerusalem, [first half of the 20th century].
Repoussé and embossed copper.
At the center of the plate is an embossed medallion presenting the figures of two spies carrying a cluster of grapes. The plate's edges are decorated with stalks of grain and medallions recalling ancient coins. Soldered to the back of the plate is a thin platelet with the inscription: "Made in Palestine at the Art Workshop SHARAR, Bezalel Jerusalem".
Diameter: 22 cm. Good condition. Bends. Minor blemishes. Corrosion. Hanger on the plate's back.
