Small Notebook in Leather Binding – Donation of Funds – Establishment of the State of Israel – Uruguay, 1948
"Hagana, 14-v-48, Uruguay", a notebook given to a woman by the name of Frida Flato, for donation of money to the State of Israel, Uruguay, 1948. Spanish.
Within the notebook appears a photograph of the owner with the number of the card and number of the receipt appearing above it. On the facing page appears the writing "Frida Flato Ha Contribuido Para La Consolidación Del Estado De Israel Por El Comité De Emergencia" (Frida Flato has contributed to the establishment of the State of Israel through a [donation] to the emergency committee), signed by hand and ink-stamped: Hagana.
Bound in a fine leather binding with gilt embossing of the flags of Israel and Uruguay with a Star of David between them and the inscription "Hagana, 14-v-48, Uruguay".
Folded in the notebook is a receipt in the name of Flato (stapled to the spine) for a donation to "Campana Unificada Pro-Israel" in 1951.
Approx. 7 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains and damage. Slightly worn binding.
