Shaarei Ora, Chassidic homilies on Chanukah and Purim, by Rebbe Dov Ber - the Mitteler Rebbe of Lubavitch. Kopust: R. Yehuda Yoffe, 1822. First edition (printed in the lifetime of the author).
Shaarei Ora was regarded by the Lubavitcher Rebbe to contain the most fundamental elements of Chassidut.
[2], 80; 76, [1] leaves (lacking leaf [3], second leaf of preface). Bluish leaves. 18.5 cm. Good condition. Stains, including dark dampstains. Marginal tears and minor open tears to a few leaves. Lower margin of title page trimmed, not affecting text or frame (slightly affecting text on verso). Gloss on p. 78a of the second sequence. Inscriptions on endpapers. Stamp. Old leather binding, new spine. Damage and wear to binding.
