Collection of Holy Land undivided postcards. Various publishers, Palestine, Germany, France, Spain and elsewhere, [late 19th century and early 20th century].
About one hundred photographic and illustrated early undivided postcards, depicting cities, views, sites and people across Palestine and its surroundings, including: Jaffa, Ramla, Tiberius, Safed, Nazareth, Nablus, Jericho, Gaza, Bethlehem and Acre; Capernaum, Bethany, Kafr Kanna, Mar Saba monastery, oak of Abraham in Hebron, the ruins of Caesarea and more; the Jordan River, the Dan river, the Banias, the Kinneret, the Dead Sea and Mount Tabor, the Sinai Desert, and more. Including a noteworthy photographic postcard depicting the Friday market in Safed, published by C.L. Miklasiewicz, who was the Austrian consular agent in Safed during the years 1906-1918.
About half of the postcards were published in Palestine by various publishers, including Albina et Nicodème, Joseph A. Mitri, Fr. Vester & Co., S. Salman & Co,. Palmer, Kappus & Co., J. Horowitz, Pierre Michel & fils, Boulos Meo, N. Saba, R. Grossmann, Wilh. Gross and L. Schoenecke.
Approx. 100 postcards, 14X9 cm on average. Good overall condition. Blemishes. Approx. 25 of the postcards were used.
