Letter by the Rebbe Rayatz, Hand-Signed by Him - Otwock, 1938 - Rare
A letter sent to Rabbi Eliyahu Mordechai Ha'Levi thanking him for his book. With greetings by the Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn of Lubavitch. Otwock, 1938.
At the end of the letter, the handwritten signature of the Rebbe.
The letter is written on the Rebbe's official stationery, including his name in Hebrew and English.

The Rebbe had journeyed around the world in his lifetime. In 1933, he moved from Riga to Warsaw and in 1935, due to his medical condition and according to his physician's advice, moved to Otwock. In 1939, several days after the outbreak of World War II, he left Otwock and returned to Warsaw, moving from house to house due to the Germans' bombing.

Rabbi Eliyahu Mordechai Ha'Levi Valkovsky (1873-1962), was a member of the Chief Rabbinate and author of the series of books "Ma'arechet Talmud Ha'Poskim". He studied Torah with his father. Rabbi Zvi Yechiel Ha'Levi, and with the "Alter" of Slabodka. From there, he moved to Radun, studying with the "Chafetz Chaim". In 1934, he immigrated to the Land of Israel. He died at the age of 89. Authored additional books on the Talmud, Halacha and actual issues.
