Two Important Documents of Neturei Karta
A. Very Important letter handwritten by Rabbi Ya'akov Halperin to the editor of "Ha'Choma" of Neturei Karta about the meeting of the Haredim with the members of the Anglo-American Committee. Zichon Meir, the 5th of Adar 5706, 6.2.1964.
The editor of "Ha'Choma" to whom the letter was sent was Rabbi Aharon Katzenelbogen, the leader of Neturei Karta.
The sender, Rabbi Ya'akov Halperin of Zichron Meir, the founder of Zichron Meir, a close associate of the "Chazon Ish". His son is Reb Raphael Halperin.
He was born in Galicia to a Hassidic family of the Chorotkov Hassidism. He made his fortune as a banker and trader of ancient manuscripts. He was one of the major donors to Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin in Poland. He participated in the two first conferences of Agudat Yisrael in Vienna, where he then lived.
In 1933, Halperin immigrated to the Land of Israel with his family. He purchased dozens of acres of land in Bnei Berak, which was then a young settlement. After the death of his rabbi, Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin, in 1934, he founded the Zichron Meir neighborhood in his memory.
Halperin was close to the "Chazon Ish", whom he consulted with on business matters. The "Chazon Ish" used to join the Halperin family on their annual vacation in Safed.
According to the Chazon Ish's advice, Halperin donated to Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kahenman a large plot of land, on which the Ponovezh Yeshiva was built.
In 1947, Halperin invited Rabbi Shmuel Ha'Levi Wosner, one of the disciples of Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin, to establish a yeshiva in memory of Rabbi Shapira in the vicinity of Zichron Meir in Bnei Berak. According to the advice of the Chazon Ish, he was also appointed as the rabbi of the neighborhood.

At the beginning of the letter, Rabbi Halperin writes about his donation to the publishing house and adds "on another occasion I shall continue to donate, God willing".
Then Rabbi Halperin writes that it is desirable that the members of Neturei Karta appear before the Anglo-American Committee, which came to the Land of Israel, while it is not desirable that the members of Agudat Yisrael appear before the Committee since they will be not be able to publicly testify against the Jewish Agency and will ignore certain things.
It is interesting to know whether this letter was preceded by a discussion with the "Chazon Ish" on the matter.

The Anglo-American Committee first appeared in the Land of Israel on the 6th of March 1946 in order to discuss the matter of the Land of Israel and its economic, social and political implications on Jewish immigration. Each of the parties of the Land of Israel sent its representatives to appear before the Committee: Dr. Chaim Weizmann on behalf of the Zionist Movement, David ben Gurion on behalf of the Jewish Agency, Jamal al-Husseini on behalf of the Palestinian Arabs. There were also representatives of the Jewish National Council, the Sephardim and Agudat Yisrael. Each party found it most important to express its opinion during the first meeting with the Committee.
In the last part of the letter, Rabbi Halperin notes two things that are important to be said before the Committee, "that according to the Mandate, which promises freedom of conscience, a suitable law should be legislated which prohibits women appearing in public in a promiscuous manner, a thing which is prohibited in all other States except here in the Holy land".
The second matter to be mentioned before the Committee is "the government that supports free education that spreads communism and wild behavior should be rebuked".

B. Shtar Tena'im (Engagement Terms) for the wedding of Rabbi Moshe Hirsch, the "foreign minister" of Neturei Karta, with the daughter of Rabbi Aharon Katzenelbogen, the leader of Neturei Karta. The Shtar is handwritten and signed by Rabbi Katzenelbogen, with the addition of the groom's signature.
The wedding was set for Tuesday, the 18th of Adar 5717, 19.2.1957.

Rabbi Aharon Shlomo Ha'Levi Katzenelbogen, head of the "Torah Ve'Yir'ah" Yeshiva, one of the founders of Neturei Karta and its leader. In his youth he studied with Rabbi Yosef ChaimSonnenfeld and was considered a prodigy, so much so that before his engagement, he was tested on Shulchan Aruch Yoreh Deah and Choshen Mishpat.
He was known for his determined and radical opinions. Together with his friend, Rabbi Amram Blau, he founded the "Ha'Chaim" company, which eventually became the Neturei Karta community. As its leader, he used to publicly express the worldview of the movement whenever he was given the opportunity.
Rabbi Moshe Hirsch studied as a youth at the yeshivas of Slabodka and Mir. He lived in the Mea;h She'arin neighborhood of Jerusalem. He was close to Rabbi Amram Blau. Hirsch was an anti-Zionist activist, even more radical than his father-in-law. He was in close contact with Yasser Arafat and bore the title "Minister for Jewish Affairs" of his government. He died on Lag Ba'Omer 2010 and was buried on the Mount of Olives. A delegation of Fatah members came to his house on the days of the Shiva. His son, Rabbi Yisrael Meir, continues in his foorsteps.
