נוף הררי, פחם על נייר, 43x51 ס"מ, חתום ומתוארך 1929, עבודה איכותית ונדירה. לאופולד קרקואר, ישראלי, 1954-1890, נולד בוינה, אוסטריה, בשנת 1890 במשפחה מתבולללת. אביו, יוזף-מוזס, היה סוחר במוצרי ברזל. בין השנים 1912-1907 למד אדריכלות בוינה. בשנת 1919 נישא לאמנית גרטה וולף. בראשית שנות ה-20 של המאה ה-20 עסק באדריכלות לצד יצירה אמנותית. בעקבות זכיותו בתחרות אדריכלית, בשנת 1924, עלה לארץ ישראל. בשנת 1926 השתקע בירושלים ועסק באדריכלות.
