An early A.N.S., ` Ney ´, with flourish, one page, small 4to, Ober Eysenheim, Bavaria, 8th Thermidor year 4, 26th July 1796, in French. The present document being a safe-conduct given to the bearer by Ney who signs at the base in his capacity as ` Adjudant Général Commandant d´Avant Garde´ (” Adjutant General, Vanguard Commander”). Ney states ` Les avant-postes laisseront librement passer le proteur du présent allant à Rittenhausen. Cet homme est invalide du Pays et qui désire retourner chez lui´ (Translation: ” The outposts will allow free passage to the bearer of the present document going to Rittenhausen. This man is an invalid from the country and wishes to return home.”) Small repair to the verso to the edge, with overall age wear and toning.
