MARCONI GUGLIELMO: (1874-1937) Marconi tests a directional radio antenna system - MARCONI GUGLIELMO: (1874-1937) Italian inventor & electrical engineer, Nobel Prize winner for Physics, 1909. Marconi is credited as being the inventor of the radio. An excellent vintage signed 4.5 x 7 photograph of Marconi standing outdoors in a three-quarter length pose, wearing a pair of headphones and holding a small device in one raised hand as he tests and fine-tunes a directional radio antenna system, evaluating how well signals are being transmitted or received. Photograph by Ernesto Battigelli of Santa Margherita Ligure and bearing his blind embossed stamp to the lower left corner and credit stamp to the verso. Signed by Marconi in bold black fountain pen ink to a clear area at the head of the image and dated December 1934 in his hand.
