BRUCKNER ALEXANDER: (1834-1896) - BRUCKNER ALEXANDER: (1834-1896) Baltic German historian who specialised in Russian studies. A.L.S., with his initials AB , to the recto of a plain postcard, Stockholm, 27th May 1894, to his wife, Lucie Bruckner, in German. Bruckner informs his wife that he had arrived in Uppsala yesterday, where he met many very interesting people and was given a warm welcome by Professor Hjärne, who ´showed me around Uppsala, the University, and the museum´ . Bruckner adds that he then spent an enjoyable afternoon with Dr. Paul Gerson Unna and spoke some Swedish, and later dined with Sundewall. Bruckner also states that he has received his wife´s card, and another from a Count, but wonders when her parcel will arrive, remarking ´I very much look forward to the arrival of the costume´ , and concluding by stating that he will leave for Berlin tomorrow.
