FOUCHÉ JOSEPH: (1759-1820) Convention Deputy and Minister of Police. Multiple signed D.S., Fouché, two pages, 4to, Chaumont & Paris, 15th May and 3rd October 1799, to Nicolas Brugnon & Marie Saunois, on the Haute-Marne administration department printed stationery, in French. The partially printed document being a certificate issued by Haute-Marne department as requested by Brugnon & Saunois, stating that they have never been included in the emigrants list in order to `..grant an inheritance at the Saint-Domingue island..´ Signed by Fouché to the second page, in his capacity as Minister of the Police. Also signed to the second page by Pierre-Laurent Forfait (1752-1807) Navy Minister under Consulate. Signed Forfait in his capacity as Navy and colonies Minister. Countersigned by several administrators of the Haute-Marne department. The document bears a red ink stamp of the Police Ministry alongside Fouché´s signature, as well as a Navy ministry ink stamp, and a vignette of the Haute-Marne department at the heading. Very small overall minor age wear and two extremely small tears to the left edge, otherwise G £80-120
