HENRY III OF FRANCE: (1551-1589) King of France 1574-89. Last French king of the House of Valois. Assassinated. A good D.S., `Henry´, one page, parchment, oblong folio, Paris, 26th February 1578, to Robert de la Vieuville, in old French. The King grants salaries and confirms payments agreed to Robert de la Vieuville from the Comté of Rethélois, as Lieutenant General. Countersigned by the Secretary of State Pierre Brulart. Folded. Small overall creasing, and a tear to the left edge not affecting the text or signature. G £600-900
