DE GAULLE CHARLES: (1890-1970) French General and Statesman who led the Free French Forces during World War II. President of the French Republic 1959-69. War date T.L.S., C. de Gaulle, one page, 4to, Carlton Gardens, London, 3rd February 1943, to Yvonne Cooper, in French. De Gaulle states that he was particularly touched by his correspondent's contribution which she had sent with a letter on the 18th January and further remarks 'I thank you particularly for it and also for all the work that you continue to do for France'. Some minor corner creasing and a small area of light staining to the right edge, only very slightly affecting a few words of text, but not the signature. G £200-300
