CHURCHILL CLEMENTINE S.: (1885-1977) Wife of Sir Winston S. Churchill. A war date T.L.S., Clementine S. Churchill, one page, 4to, 10 Downing Street, Whitehall, 10th March 1944, to Mrs. Boyle-Lawrence. Churchill thanks her correspondent for their letter and the 'inspiring poem on ''Russia'' which was written by your Husband' and continues 'I am most interested to hear that you knew my Mother during that winter in Monte Carlo. It must have been a great pleasure to her to visit you' before concluding 'Thank you so much for all the nice things you say about my Husband'. A couple of heavy creases, only slightly affecting the text and signature, about G £80-100
