An interesting T.L., one page, 4to, being a contemporary copy of a report, dated 3rd January 1918, issued by Lieutenant Geoffrey Barfoot-Saunt of the R.F.C., General Staff (Intelligence). Headquarters, Royal Flying Corps. Entitled and underlined `Report on D.F.W. 2-Seater. Brought down by Capt. Mc.Cudden of 56 Squadron, on 22-12-17, near St. Quentin.´ the report corresponds to Mccudden´s 28th victory. The document states in part `This machine is a complete wreck, but it appears to be the usual type D.F.W.´, further explaining `The engine fitted is a 200 h.p. BENZ No. 30874. The radiator is the honeycomb type. Main petrol tank is in the shape of a seat, and has a capacity of 50 gallons….The tyres are by Harburg of Vienna, size 810 x 125. Machine gun this is a « Spandau » No. 3431, 1917 type, firing through the propeller ; fitted with a direct flexible drive interruptor gear.´ With a binder hole to the upper left corner. G £100-120
