BAKER SAMUEL WHITE: (1821-1893) British Explorer of Africa. A.L.S., Saml. W Baker, two pages, oblong 8vo, Seymour Street, London, 30th March n.y., to a gentleman. Baker announces 'I admire your energy which I trust will some day bring you success' and further adds 'In the portion of Africa known by me there will be no opening until the railway shall be completed from Khartoum to Cairo.
